Can you tell me why the headline on the front page of the Strib today is “Why God Why?” when the accident that is referred to in the article happened at 2:40 AM, with a 16 year old behind the wheel of a car full of kids all under the age of 21? Why would we ask God "Why?" about that????? Why don't we ask, "What should we (and I am including every family in America) learn from this?"
I have been sitting here wanting to respond to this question but not sure why. What I learned from this tragity is that eventhough we try and raise our children up to be responsible and make the right choices, children/teens still have this inner freedom that wants to emerge and become adult faster then their brains can develope. It's natural for the parents of these children to ask themselves, "what could I have done differently so this wouldn't have happened?". There may not have been anything they could have done. What we need to do is pray for peace for those families suffering and as a church try to reach as many children/teens/adults as we can and continue to teach/guide them to make Christ like choices.
